Your hosts Nick, Vendy, Jimi, and Nicola had been Bristol residents for many years.
A fortunate turn of events saw them purchase Beachams Barn in North Somerset shortly before the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.
While building their home, they lived in a caravan on the site.
Planning permission had already been granted to convert the so-called “barn” (in reality, a former cow shed) into a residential property.
The stipulation to retain the original structure presented a more significant challenge than a complete demolition would have done.
After a couple of years at Beachams, the family applied for planning permission to build four eco-friendly holiday cabins on a section of the nine-acre site, which had previously been an orchard.
The trees had been removed many years prior, so the empty field presented a blank canvas for re-wilding and restoring ecological habitats amongst the luxury acommodation.
We’re currently undertaking a 5 year re-wilding project across our 9 acre site.
This plan was created in collaboration with a local environmental group and the Woodland trust, to re-introduce native plant species to the area.
